Comedian extraordinaire Lily Tomlin did not join Women in Black as we stood in silence, facing the Meyerhoff before her January 28, 2003 preformance.
However Women in Black's invitation to join them might have motivated Tomlin to introduce what she referred to as the "global premire" of Ernistine, the telephone operator, setting up a conference call between Geoge Bush, Saddam Hussein and the North Korean President. The skit ended with Ernistine connecting the presidents and saying "OK, boys, just talk."

She also spoke of her hope, for three weeks after 9-11-01, that we might break the cycle of violence and do something different ..., just "go through that window" and examine other options.
Women in Black in B'More will stand in front of the Meryerhof prior to each lecture in the Women's Lecture Series and continue to invite each presentor to stand with us in silence for peace.
